Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) affects nearly 1 in every 100 newborns and is a leading cause of birth defect-associated infant illness and death. CHD research is drastically underfunded.
Improve outcomes for Children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)
Over the past 10 years, Team Trace has donated nearly $500,000 to Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington DC in support of CHD research.
Our current supported project, led by Dr. Berul, Division Chief of Cardiology at CNMC, focuses on developing more effective tools for the placement of pacemakers and defibrillators in a child’s chest. The goal being to place these devices through a small hole in the chest rather than dangerous open-heart surgery.
Team Trace is also focused on the heart health of our community. Starting in Talbot County, Team Trace has donated more than $50,000 for AED’s to be installed at parks and sports fields across the Eastern Shore.
